DESCRIPTION

Now here is a special piece of denim. Made to mark 30 years since the brand started in Osaka in 1995. The S1003XX-LTD recreates those wartime shortcuts and quirks as the originals were made. It goes back to one of the most studied periods in denim history: the Second World War, when American makers had to ration metal, thread and fabric, and jeans were built with whatever was allowed.

The details are true to the era. The top button is an iron "donut," the fly has iron tack buttons, and the rivets are copper-plated iron. The pocket bags are flannel, the patch is vegetable-tanned deerskin, and the hem is chainstitched. The fit is the classic 1940s straight leg: a mid-high rise, a roomy thigh, and a straight line from the knee down. These are unsanforized so they will shrink upon washing and ultimately forming to your body. So tread carefully when sizing. Expect about 1.25" at the waist and 2.5" in the inseam. You will get some stretch back in the waist but don't over do it on the pizza.
