The U.S. Army developed the M-1912 parka during the First World War to keep soldiers warm and protected in harsh cold-weather conditions.
It's cut from a hard-wearing, pre-dyed 100% cotton selvedge canvas in a deep brown. The fabric starts super stiff and over time will soften, crease and fade. The fit is perfect and oversized, as intended, so you can layer whatever you'd like underneath. Sweater, flannel, tee or coat. Or all of the abive.
Everything on it is practical. The hood has a drawstring, there's one large kangaroo pocket on the front, and the cuffs have ties to close them against wind and cold. This my friends is how you build the perfect parka.
