The frokey print. As we know Sunray does not print on their tees. The only prints we have ever seen are the ones for his friends and family and those my friend are hard to come by!
And then Colin and his team of bandits come across Mr Yanamoto Frokey is the original way to print a flocked print, with Yanamoto san still printing using this traditional process.
First, he hand screen prints glue onto the garment.
Secondly, he then places coloured dust into a pan, which he electrostatically charges, to then spray the dust through a fine filter onto the glue.
The garment is then quickly dried and any excess dust is quickly blown off.
The result is a time consuming print but one that offers a wonderfully flocked print.
This is a dying art and a process that you need to feel in order to appreciate the end result.
